What is no 1 finish in stainless steel?

No. 1 Finish is produced by rolling stainless steel that has been heated prior to rolling (hot-rolling). This is followed by a heat treatment that produces a uniform microstructure (annealing) and ensures that the stainless steel will meet mechanical property requirements.

Hot rolled steel comes with a scaly surface, slightly rounded edges and corners and the surface is non-oily.

Cold rolled steel has an oily or greasy finish, very smooth surface, and very sharp edges.

No.3	has better gloss and rough surface. Processing technology: Polishing and tempering rolling of 2D products or 2B with 100 ~ 120 abrasive materials (JIS R6002).
